Red tailed Hawk

The red tailed hawk is a bird of prey and one of the biggest hawks. Their wingspan typically ranges around 50 inches with the females being larger. Their diet mainly consists of small mammals. Their main predators are larger birds of prey like the great horned owl and big cats like bob cats. The talons are the main weapons for the hawks. They can be identified through their brown body and red head and tail. Fun fact a hawks eyesight is around 8 times better than a humans. 

Blue Dasher Dragonfly 

The picture above is a picture of two blue dasher dragonflies mating. These dragonflies are apart of the insect family. This type of dragonfly is all throughout North America. They can be identified through there blue body and green or white face. As with most insects there is stages to their life cycle. There are three stages of life for the blue dasher, egg, larvae, and adult dragonfly. They typically live from June to October. Their main food source is other smaller insects. They typically lay around 500 eggs at a time. Fun fact the blue dasher is one of the best predators and eat around 10% of their body weight a day.
